Lansurf SMO

Product Category: Nonionics

Sorbitan Monooleate

INCI Name: Sorbitan Monooleate

Quick Links

Lansurf SMO is a nonionic surfactant based on sorbitan monooleate. It is supplied as a water‑insoluble liquid and is primarily used as a low‑HLB emulsifier for the formation of water‑in‑oil (W/O) emulsions.

Lansurf SMO is suitable for a wide variety of industrial and chemical formulations and can be used either alone or in combination with more hydrophilic surfactants to achieve the desired emulsion balance, stability, and performance.

Key Features

  • Low‑HLB, nonionic surfactant based on sorbitan monooleate, suitable for water‑in‑oil (W/O) emulsions.

  • Water‑insoluble emulsifier providing effective emulsion formation and stability in oil‑continuous systems

  • Can be used alone or in combination with more hydrophilic surfactants to fine‑tune emulsion balance and performance.

Applications

Emulsifier in Industrial and Chemical Formulations
- Used as a low‑HLB, water‑in‑oil (W/O) emulsifier in a wide range of industrial formulations.
- Suitable for oil‑continuous systems requiring stable emulsification of aqueous phases.

Lubricants & Metalworking
- Acts as an emulsifier and processing aid in lubricants, greases, and metalworking fluids.
- Used where non‑ionic surfactants are required to support emulsion stability and process performance.

Agriculture & Agrochemicals
- Used as an emulsifier in emulsifiable concentrates (ECs) and other oil‑based agrochemical formulations.
- Supports the formation and stability of agrochemical emulsions and dispersions.

Polymer & Plastics Processing
- Acts as a secondary emulsifier in suspension and emulsion polymerisation systems.
- Aids emulsion control and processing efficiency.
