Following a laboratory study by Lankem into the performance of bio-based dispersants in aqueous dispersions of titanium dioxide pigment, two products were shown to give excellent performance in comparison to a conventional sodium polyacrylate dispersant.

When compared to the standard sulphosuccinate (Lanwet JH1), Lansperse SUN10 showed comparable wetting properties but with the added benefit of very low foam generation. Additionally, the favourable labelling of Lansperse SUN10 makes it a compelling choice for use as a substrate wetter in a wide range of coating applications.

Lansperse BIO868 performs very well as a bio-based dispersant for Pigment Violet 23 in water-based systems. It consistently produced low-viscosity millbases, remained stable during storage, and achieved strong colour development with fewer milling passes than the market standard.
