Lansurf STO85

Product Category: Nonionics

Sorbitan Trioleate + 20EO

INCI Name: Polysorbate 85

Quick Links

Lansurf STO85 is a nonionic surfactant made from sorbitan trioleate ethoxylated with 20 moles of ethylene oxide. It can be used on its own or blended with sorbitan esters like Lansurf STO to tailor emulsification. The product is readily biodegradable and not expected to persist in the environment. Typical applications include agrochemical formulations, anti‑fogging additives for plastic films, textile fiber lubricants and softeners, and secondary emulsifiers in suspension and emulsion polymerisation.

Key Features

  • Versatile nonionic surfactant – Based on sorbitan trioleate ethoxylated with 20 EO, offering strong emulsifying and wetting performance.

  • Readily biodegradable – Not expected to persist in the environment, supporting environmentally responsible formulations.

  • Wide application range – Effective in agrochemical formulations, plastic‑film anti‑fog systems, textile lubrication/softening, and as a secondary emulsifier in polymerisation.

Applications

Agrochemical Formulations
– Used as a surfactant and emulsifier to improve wetting, spreading, and dispersion of actives.

Anti‑Fogging Agent in Plastic Films
– Helps prevent condensation and improves clarity in agricultural and packaging films.

Textile Fiber Processing
– Acts as a lubricant and softener to assist fiber handling and enhance fabric properties.

Polymerisation Processes
– Functions as a secondary emulsifier in suspension and emulsion polymerisation systems.
